A Sign in Space follows Qfwfq, a being who has existed since the beginning of the universe, as he attempts to leave the first mark in the cosmos. What begins as a simple gesture gradually becomes a reflection on pride, competition, and the desire to be seen. Through this vast, cosmic setting, Calvino brings the story down to a deeply human scale, revealing how even in an infinite universe, we continue to search for meaning, recognition, and connection.

Centered on Greenacre Park in Lower Manhattan, the project responds to the park’s unique character: despite its small footprint, it offers a rich variety of ways to engage with green space in a dense urban environment, including a prominent waterfall feature.

Protect Those Who Can not Speak is a project that uses bold visual design and an interactive postcard system to confront animal abuse. The poster represents animals that are absent, and those that are extinct, endangered, or silenced. Using bright, unsettling color to demand attention rather than comfort.
The project extends beyond the poster through the distribution of blank postcards, shared through Live in Peace Studios and by hand. Participants are invited to write about instances of animal abuse they have witnessed or learned about, as well as possible responses or solutions. Some postcards describe local issues that are rarely reported; others share approaches that have worked in different places.
By collecting and connecting these responses, the project reveals patterns that often go unseen and turns individual experiences into shared knowledge. Almost in Between is a film festival that focuses on movies defined by pivotal moments, points of no return that transform both the narrative and the main characters. These films explore themes of conflict, greed, time, death, and mental illness, offering insight into how individuals navigate unexpected and life-altering circumstances.
For this project, I drew inspiration from Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, both its music and iconic album cover. The album’s exploration of psychological tension and human complexity informed the visual language of the poster, translating its themes of pressure, rupture, and transformation into a contemporary graphic system that reflects the festival’s core concept.
The poster was designed as a front-and-back composition, with each side extending the festival’s narrative. The front establishes the emotional weight and atmosphere, while the back presents contextual information and supporting visuals. Together, they reinforce themes of transformation, duality, and the moment between before and after mirroring the festival’s focus on turning points and shifting perspectives.
